Inspired by William Henry Fox Talbot’s 1839 photograph The Needles (Schaaf no. 1563), Jyrki Siukonen revisits the origins of photography through a sculptural interplay of image and natural materials. A delicate spruce branch extends beyond the frame, echoing the needle-like forms in the photographic image. By bringing a living form into dialogue with a historical photographic process, Siukonen explores the relationship between memory, representation, and the passage of time.
