Joseph Burwell’s multi-faceted presentations combine precise architectural elements with two- dimensional renderings, signs, and objects, displayed throughout the fragmented space in unconventional ways.
Joseph Burwell (b. 1970) was born in Kelfavík, Iceland and grew up in Virginia. He studied Architecture at Savannah College of Art and Design but received his Bachelor Degree in Studio Arts from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. A multidisciplinary artist, he has an MFA in Sculpture from Tulane University and an MFA in Painting from Hunter College.
